The clear blue water is a spectacular welcome to the start of the famous Eighty Mile Beach. This well travelled stretch of beach is well placed on the tourist trail between Port Hedland and Broome.
  • Koombana Lookout. The lookout provides panoramic views across the port entrance and back across the Port Hedland hinterland. On a clear day, you can see forever. A wonderful place to spot marine wildlife, or just enjoy the view as the lights come on across the harbour at sunset.
  • Pretty Pool. A popular family and community reserve since Port Hedland's early days. An ideal spot for swimming, fishing and shell collecting.
  • Tidal Flats. Be amazed by the huge tides of the North West. The resulting Tidal Flats left at Port Hedland as the tide goes out make a truly spectacular vista. Don’t forget your camera to photograph these unique patterns etched into the sand.
  • Town Observation Tower. The 26 metre high Town Observation Tower in Port Hedland provides an outstanding birds-eye view of the surrounding area and bustling activities of the port. Take some time to watch the comings and goings of this busy port town, and be sure to take your camera.
